Reg Meuross Song Cycles

Lots announced for Sunday now, centered around the appearance of one of this country's finest folk songwriters, Reg Meuross.

Reg will be playing solo and also bringing two of his recent, and brilliant, song-cycles. With concertina wizard Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne and kora master Suntou Susso he brings "Stolen From God". Four years in the making, it tackles England’s involvement in the transatlantic slave trade, unearthing both incredible tales and uncomfortable truths.

A stunning and important work of historical research set to some of the best folk tunes you’ll hear this year

He also brings "Fire and Dust", The Woody Guthrie Story. This time he's joined by Welsh singer, songwriter, pianist and accordionist Geraint Watkins. This new set of songs shows Meuross at his absolute best - sharing stories from social history that are still highly relevant today.

Cohen and Suntou also have solo performances at other times of the day.

Plenty more still to come so keep an eye on the website or follow us on Facebook.

We're counting down to Christmas now, and there are plenty of folky offerings to get the seasonal spirits rising. How about GTSF regulars Keith Donnelly and Lauren South's Christmas Cracker concerts - see here? Kate Rusby's Christmas tour here?

Or if you can't get to those, what about getting someone a fabulous ticket for GTSF 2024 for their stocking?

That's it for now but more news coming soon.
