Motor Vehicles

The main entrance to the festival is on Eakring Lane, just to the West of Kirklington off the A617. Campers and non-campers with vehicles should use this entrance, as it leads to the campsite and the free day car-park which is opposite the box office (follow signs).

For Google Maps, search for "Gate to Southwell Festival". This brings you to the vehicle entrance.

For SatNav, please use the postcode for Archway House, NG22 8NX. The festival is the next entrance on the right after Archway House, if coming from the A617.

Cycling & Walking

We are half a mile from National Cycle Route 645, which continues on an easy flat ride of about 3 miles into Southwell.

Pedestrians and cyclists should access the festival via Home Farm Lane in the centre of Kirklington which avoids the long farm track.  Postcode NG22 8PE.

Public Transport

The nearest large train stations are Mansfield (10 miles) and Newark (11 miles).

Kirklington is not well served by buses but there are good taxi services at both stations. If you are having difficulty getting to us, please email information@southwellfolkfestival.org.uk

Shuttle Bus

There will be a shuttle bus to and from Southwell on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will add details and a timetable nearer the event. There is a time table at the bottom of this page and you can download a PDF here.

Local Accommodation

If you aren't tempted by festival camping or glamping, there are many B&Bs and independent hotels around Southwell and Kirklington. We recommend visiting the Southwell Town Council website which keeps an up to date list, or www.hundredrooms.co.uk which seems to list more of the B&Bs than the major sites. Hotel availability can be searched easily on Booking.com, or Trivago.co.uk.
