Thorpe & Morrison

Thorpe Morrison3.jpeg

Thorpe and Morrison are an enthusiastic, energetic traditional folk duo formed out of Joe Broughton’s Conservatoire Folk Ensemble. They play traditional and original tunes in a unique and lively style.

They were both brought up with folk music from a young age. Sean Morrison gained a passion for Scottish folk growing up in Ayrshire, whilst Harry Thorpe became engrossed whilst playing in sessions in Suffolk. Having both moved to Birmingham, they now combine their Scottish/English folk upbringings within the duo.

They’ve been working together on many projects over the last few years, having played as a duo, with the folk ensemble, and their other band Juniper at Gate to Southwell, Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Towersey Folk Festival, Kendal Calling, Shambala, Greenman Beverley Folk Festival, New Forrest Folk Festival, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival, the list goes on.
