SETH LAKEMAN + 4 more acts confirmed + Ticket Alert!

Announced! Seth Lakeman to play on Sunday: singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Mercury Prize nominee and BBC Folk Award winner. He's joined by Benji Kirkpatrick (Bellowhead, Faustus) and singer Alex Hart in what will be a part of a brilliant Sunday night Lake Stage line-up with the inspirational Conservatoire Folk Ensemble and The Kris Drever Band.

"Seth Lakeman has that ability to create something entirely contemporary from sounds that emerge from traditional music. The instrumentation and approach is firmly rooted in folk traditions, but the songs, themes and production resonate with modern expectations and feelings"

Also added to the Sunday line-up, this time to provide a lively finish over on the Frontier Stage are The Activators, an 11-piece band whose eclectic style transcends Ska, Reggae, Celtic, Punk and Dub, even venturing into Balkan folk and Tango! Their energy, style and liking for utter mayhem has led to them becoming regulars at Glastonbury Festival and Boomtown Fair.

Also added in the last few days is Alistair Russell who'll be taking part in Thursday's folk club on the Folk Stage. Over thirty years a professional musician and sound engineer, Alistair sings songs mainly from his family homeland Scotland, its neighbour Ireland, self-penned songs inspired by his world-wide travelling with Battlefield Band for 13 years, and any other song that takes his fancy.

For something different on Thursday evening on the Folk Stage, later we have "The Big Sing", with songs and choruses to give everyone's vocal chords some exercise - come and join in! Two of the acts taking part are Higgs Bo'sun a Nottingham-based fusion of five "multi-instrumental and vocal particles"; and Caistorways who sing sea shanties and traditional folk songs which we'll also all be singing along with!
