Important Line-Up Update: Richard Thompson
Important Line-Up Update: Richard Thompson

We are writing to share some unfortunate news regarding Richard Thompson, Friday's headliner. He has had a serious fall, resulting in three broken ribs. On doctor's orders, he is unable to perform and must take time to recover. We send Richard our heartfelt best wishes for a swift and full recovery.

We know this will be a huge disappointment to many of you – and we can assure you that we share that disappointment. We were incredibly excited to welcome him to our stage. Richard himself sends you this message: "I’m very sorry not to be able to perform at GTSF this year — I was truly looking forward to it. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope very much to make it to the festival in 2026 instead”.

This situation is, of course, completely beyond our control, but what happens next is not. Please be assured, we are already working hard to secure a fantastic new headliner to join our already brilliant line-up.

As you may know, GTSF is a labour of love and a not-for-profit organisation, run by a small team of volunteers. This news is a challenge, but our commitment to you is absolute. Some of us are stepping away from our day jobs to focus on handling this and ensuring we still deliver the amazing festival experience you are looking forward to.

The festival is, and has always been, about more than just one name. It’s a full weekend packed with incredible music, discovery, and community spirit. Your support makes it all possible, and we are determined to make GTSF 2025 our best yet.

We will announce our new headliner as soon as they are confirmed. Please keep an eye on your inbox and our social media channels for updates.

Thank you for your understanding and your incredible support. We can't wait to welcome you in three weeks' time.

Warm regards

The GTSF Team

Festival 2025 – Headliner Change: FAQ

What’s happened with Richard Thompson?

We’re very sorry to share that Richard Thompson has had to withdraw from this year’s festival. We were informed that he recently suffered a fall and sustained three broken ribs. Naturally, he’s now unable to perform while he recovers.

Will he be performing at a future event?

We’ve been in touch with Richard’s team, and he’s kindly said that he hopes to join us at the festival in 2026 instead. We’ll share more on that when we can — and we wish him the very best for a full and speedy recovery.

Have you got a replacement?

Yes — we’re already working hard to secure a fantastic replacement artist for the Friday headline slot. As a small, not-for-profit, volunteer-led festival, some of us are currently stepping away from our day jobs to prioritise this fully. We’ll update you as soon as we’re able.

Does this affect the rest of the festival?

No — everything else is going ahead as planned. We’re still offering a weekend full of amazing music, creativity, and community spirit, and we’re so looking forward to welcoming you all.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets remain valid for the full event (whether a full day or the full 4 days) so refunds are not available. The festival is going ahead as scheduled. While we understand this news may be disappointing, we’re committed to delivering a brilliant weekend and appreciate your continued support.

Where can I get updates?

Please keep an eye on our website, social media channels, and email newsletters for the latest news.

Thank you so much for your understanding — it means the world to us.
