And the second bit of news is the great review we just received in the latest RnR Magazine " which came through our letterbox today "...ʜᴏᴡ ʙʀɪʟʟɪᴀɴᴛ ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴀᴛ? ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴀ ɢʀᴇᴀᴛ ꜰᴇꜱᴛɪᴠᴀʟ!"

Here it is:

"There's a new and massive 'gazebo' covering the main stage audience, just in time for a showery weekend during which a bunch of female performers steal the limelight. Best of all is Rhiannon Giddens who admits to being a 'fan of mixing' and proves it by going from a Dolly Parton tribute to the spiritual 'Up Above My Head' to an old-time thrash on the banjo with Dirk Powell. An exceptional singer and performer!

Molly Donnery is rooted in the Irish tradition. As part of The Haar and Cider With Molly, she exhibits a gorgeous and powerful voice while the band devises the accompaniment. Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening create a thrilling mix of very old songs and very modern arrangements, with vocals shared between Kathryn, Amy Thatcher and Stef Conner. American singer-songwriter Lizzie No parades excellent songs like ‘Killing Season' and an unlikely portable harp.

Campbell / Jensen, featuring Glen Campbell's daughter Ashley, ends with "Gentle On My Mind' once sung by her father, while Canadian 'sisters in song' Catherine MacLellan and Tara MacLean revive Catherine's dad Gene's iconic 'Snowbird'. Charm of Finches are two sisters escaping the Aussie winter for a UK summer (ha!) - they're positively charming - white the Scots rockers Mànran employ Kim Carnie's more fragile vocals to lighten the load.

There's no space left for the male acts, except to say that a busy Reg Meuross performs his masterpiece Stolen From God to a standing ovation, and new Liverpool folk-rockers Thomasbradleyproject show huge promise. Eight of the ten acts mentioned above I was seeing for the first time - how brilliant is that? What a great festival!" 𝘐𝘢𝘯 𝘊𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘵

RNR is a great magazine with a huge number of new LP/CD reviews each month - a great way to find new music if you're so inclined. Everything roots, folk, blues, country, rock and from around the world.

That's all for now!
