Thursday is the 4th of July, so we thought it would be an ideal opportunity to cast our ears across the pond and delve into the rich history of American music.

Following in the tradition of the great GTSF collective concerts that you may have seen here over the years, we'll bring together a series of festival artists to play the classics their way. This will take place on Thursday evening on the FOLK STAGE. We've recently signed up Louis Louis Louis as house band to lend a hand with all the great songs from the 1920s onwards. (see their page here).

The "Great American Songbook" is traditionally seen as the canon of the most important and influential American popular songs and jazz standards of the early to mid-20th century. Our version will expand to encompass all the great songs of the last 100 years or so, be it blues, jazz, folk, country, rock 'n' roll or whatever - ‘Anything Goes’ to quote one song candidate!

Our way, in many ways, is your way!

Let us know the song you'd love to hear. It just needs to be a classic whether it's a folk ballad, country classic, a jazz standard or anything else, and it needs to have been written by someone from the U S of A!
