ALEX AKIBA

Alex Akiba is a contemporary folk musician hailing from Disley. Blending introspective lyrics often inspired by nature, with intricate fingerstyle guitar, Alex's sound evokes the subtle emotional depth of artists of the 70’s folk revival. His live performances consist of original music with a few traditional songs and contemporary folk covers in the mix such as songs by Nick Drake and John Martyn with some Bert Jansch thrown in too.
With a growing presence in the North West’s folk circuit, Alex has performed at various pubs and cafes around Lancaster and Morecambe as well as popular venues in central Manchester including the Eagle inn and is scheduled to play at the Peer hat.
Alex is currently in the process of recording his debut album, expected to be out in December. Although no studio recordings have been published yet, Alex’s recordings of original music and covers out in scenic locations have garnered attention across his social media platforms.
His captivating live performances have brought people to tears as people are hypnotized by his heartfelt lyricism and storytelling accompanied by his textured guitar playing.
