The Niche Family

The Niche Family focus on close vocal harmonies and strong songwriting drawing from Folk, Americana and Country influences.

Originating from Rutherglen, Scotland and Toronto, Canada. Former members of the Glasgow Freak Folk ensemble, The Hoojamamas, brothers Stuart and Andrew Neil joined up with Lauren Thompson to form the band following an impromptu jam session that arose from the celebration of Stuart and Lauren’s wedding in 2021.
​Recently, The band has expanded their lineup to include Aberdeen folk singer Adam Thom on banjo and Paisley born multi instrumentalist Timmy Alan enriching their live performances. They released their debut in 2024.

​With their unique blend of Country, Americana and Folk melodies plus the richness of their diverse backgrounds, The Niche Family is poised to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of those who have experienced their music.

​The band performed at Celtic Connections in January 2025 and release their second EP later this year.
