We spotted Simawé whilst on holiday in France in 2019 and decided straight away to ask them over. Thankfully they said yes!

The town of Angers in NW France Angers is known for its thriving music scene, but until 2013 hadn't really given birth to a Reggae group - and so Simawé was born. The quintet retains the spiritual strength and quiet groove of roots reggae but never falls into the trap of "parody à la française". Various African, folk, gospel, blues and hip-hop sounds spice-up their compositions...we'll classify them as a folk-reggae group with world tendencies for now (and you can decide). One thing is certain - they put on a tremendous live show.
