Foreign Affairs is the musical collaboration of brothers Adam and Lawrence Purnell. They began writing in their teens before Adam relocated to Brussels to study guitar. On Adam’s return to the UK the duo released their first single ‘Sell My Soul’ which received local and national BBC radio play. In December 2018 the band released their debut EP ‘The Old Fire Station’ the record received widespread critical acclaim and was followed by a 22 date European tour with Grammy nominated Larkin Poe.
The duo signed their first publishing contract with Peer Music in 2019 and have released a host of new music, garnering support from BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing, Spotify Editorial as well sync placements with BT Sport and CW Network America.
- Foreign Affairs has taken inspiration from various artists and genres. Adam’s classical background has inspired intricate guitar lines paired with Lawrence’s love of the more contemporary vocal production from artists such as Hozier, this results in a unique blend that resonates with listeners both live and on record.
