Stewarding

Steward Applications

Thank you for taking the time to look at our website and in particular the get involved section.

Also, a big thank you to those who have volunteered in previous years, which has helped our festival to be the great success it is.

The festival relies on volunteers and just would not be possible without your help. Stewarding is great fun and definitely not all work! If you’ve not done it before why not give it a try in 2019.  It is a great opportunity to make new friends and feel part of a team.  We will get in touch with you in early 2019 when we start planning our rosters. Thanks!

There are three categories of steward:-

Weekend Event Stewards

It’s great fun to be really involved with the event and stewarding allows you to do this. You get a free full festival pass, and will be on duty for about 15 hours spread over the duration of the festival, so this gives plenty of time to enjoy what is going on. If you are thinking about coming along on your own, you will always be working as part of a team and stewards and camping is all together in a separate stewards’ area. So why not give it a go?

Event Stewards work over the 4 days of the festival. Your shifts could include working 3 days of 5 hrs, or 2 shifts per day of 2.5hrs, or you can work longer and reduce the number of days required to work (e.g 2 x 7.5hrs).

The duties of the Events Stewards are as follows:-

Performance Venues – all music venues including main marquee, second marquee, bar, children’s tent and workshops

General Site /Craft Tent/Gates/campsites – this includes litter picking, gate access control, traffic control, fire monitoring, fire evacuation duties, and general cleaning

Box Office / Main Control / Artist Liaison – all duties involve administration and customer services.

Town Centre – this involves a parade on the Saturday and the offsite venues.

Team Leader – this is the person who is responsible for a Venue or area

Set-Up Stewards

The set-up team work prior to the event to help with the set-up. You do need to be available from the Monfday to the Thursday in the run up to the festival. The team work approximately 9am until 5pm each day (Thursday will only be until midday).   We provide tea, coffee and lunch. Volunteers do need to be mobile and reasonably physically fit to carry out this work.

Take-Down Stewards

This is the team that takes down the tents and equipment after the Event. The work starts on the Sunday evening around 5pm and continues through Monday and Tuesday. These stewards are required to pay a bond of £100 that will be returned on completion of the work.

Please note applications are processed on a first come first served basis.

You must be 18 years or over. There are links to all three application forms below.  Please make sure you complete the correct application.  We do need a photo for ID purposes but this can be submitted later.
